BC Agriculture Council (BCAC) is the lead industry advocate for key sector-wide priorities in British Columbia.
What is Ag Day?
Ag Day in Victoria is BC Agriculture Council’s signature advocacy event, bringing together farmers, ranchers, and agricultural representatives from across British Columbia to connect with government officials, stakeholders, and policymakers. This annual event highlights the critical role of agriculture in B.C.’s economy, food security, and communities, providing a unique platform to advocate for the sector’s priorities.
2024 Update:
Due to the provincial election in 2024, BC Agriculture Council did not hold its annual Ag Day in Victoria. Instead, we took the opportunity to engage with candidates from all political parties across the province to discuss the critical priorities of the agriculture sector.
These meetings allowed B.C. farmers, ranchers, and agricultural representatives to present the sector’s priorities, which focused on securing commitments to support key issues such as water security, climate readiness, sector competitiveness, and increased investment in agriculture. By fostering meaningful dialogue, BC Agriculture Council ensured that agriculture remained a central focus during the election period and gained valuable pledges from candidates to champion the needs of the sector, laying the groundwork for continued collaboration with the incoming government.
