BC Agriculture Council (BCAC) advocates for the interests of B.C. farm and ranch families. By working collaboratively with our members, partner industry associations and private sector agri-food businesses, we ensure the sustainable growth and competitiveness of B.C. agriculture.
Working for B.C.’s farmers & ranchers
Since its inception in 1997, BCAC has developed strong relationships with industry leaders, elected officials, policy makers and government representatives through ongoing policy dialogues and events.
BCAC staff and members are influential participants at the local, provincial and national level where they are championing issues affecting farmers and dedicated to the advancement of B.C. agriculture.
OUR MANDATE
- Advocacy: Support and lead B.C. farmers and ranchers on key issues for agriculture in B.C.
- Proactive Communication: Distribute relevant information to increase industry awareness.
- Deliver Resources: Provide programs, funding, and expertise to enhance the competitiveness, innovation, and viability of B.C. agriculture.
OBJECTIVES
- The long-term economic success of B.C. farmers and ranchers.
- Successful farms existing in harmony with the environment.
- B.C. farms that are a part of and support healthy, vibrant local communities.
Our Members
Each association represents a distinct sector of producers or growers within B.C.’s agricultural industry. The support of these organizations enable BCAC to act on behalf of B.C. farmers and ranchers, advocating for their best interests on government issues and enhancing the effectiveness of our various programs and initiatives.
Our Board & Staff
BC Agriculture Council unites the efforts of our partners and member associations as well as the provincial and federal government to lead B.C. agriculture in pursuit of our mission. However, we would not be able to lead the industry without the direction of our professional and dedicated Board.
