Froese Family

Jack and Debbie Froese decided to build their lives in the place they’ve always called home, the beautiful Fraser Valley. In 1979, they purchased their family farm in Langley where they nurtured a successful business and raised their family. Today, JD Farms Specialty Turkey has grown to include a wholesale business, the retail store/deli, and a bistro.

Juschka Clarke

Juschka Clarke was born and raised in North Vancouver but is fulfilling her dream and her destiny of being a farmer. She raises 4000 organic laying hens at Hazelspring Organics. To Juschka, farming is more than a job, it’s a way of life. As a solo operator, there is never a shortage of work to do. But Juschka takes great pride in caring for her hens and loves being a B.C. egg farmer.

B Jack Farms

B Jack farms is a first generation egg farm that started producing eggs in December of 2017. The farm is a family partnership and they love having 3 generations all working together in the barns at the same time. They are excited and humbled by the responsibility to produce the eggs that end up on grocery store shelves, and in the homes of BC consumers just like you!

Jared DeDood

Jared DeDood grew up as the third generation on his family dairy farm (Farmer John’s Market) in Grindrod, BC. In 2017, an opportunity came up with B.C. Egg’s New Producer Program and he added the title of BC egg farmer to his resume. Starting Okanagan Riverbend Poultry at the age of 23, Jared was one of the youngest egg farmers in the province of BC! Jared is passionate about caring for his animals and producing safe, healthy affordable food for families across BC.

Forstbauer Family

Forstbauer Family Natural Food Farm is a Certified Organic and Biodynamic farm established in 1971 by Hans and Mary Forstbauer. Located in Chilliwack, B.C. the Forstbauer’s steward over 100 acres of farmland where children play, cattle graze, chickens scratch, and vegetables and fruit flourish. The Forstbauer family has always been passionate about organic farming, and they pioneered the organic farming movement in the province. They had a big role in starting the British Columbia Association for Regenerative Agriculture (BCARA), and also the Certified Organic Association of BC (COABC).

Goertzen Family

Farming has been in the Goertzen family for five generations. Their farming heritage began in Russia, but in 1969, Chad Goertzen’s farther started a mixed dairy and hog operation in Chilliwack, BC. In 2007, Chad took over the family farm, Sundance Farms, which is a farrow to finish farm that has 415 sows and sends 10,500 hogs to market every year. They farm proudly for Chilliwack’s Johnston’s Meats.

Lepp Family

Meet Rob and Charlotte Lepp and their family. The Lepp family have deep ties to the farming lifestyle and used to grow grain in Saskatchewan prior to moving to BC. Rob’s father arrived in Abbotsford in 1948 and purchased the Matsqui property–where Lepp Farms now stands. Following high school, Rob started farming with his father and they expanded Lepp Farms into a large hog farm.
